Green has a leader

Plant City (Fla.) cornerback Sam Green holds a trio of Big East offers, from Cincinnati, Rutgers, and South Florida. At this point in his recruitment, he hasn't been able to give those schools very much attention because his focus is on his academics at this time.
"I haven't really had time to check out much on each of the schools," Green said. "I am trying to graduate early so I have to get all of these classes out of the way. So I haven't really had any time for that stuff."

One thing that the 6-foot-1, 195-pound defensive back did have time for was a trip to the University of South Florida recently.
"I took a trip to USF, but it was only so they could offer me in person and I could talk to the head coach," Green said. "(Coach Holtz) was just telling me how their defense is and how they would use me. I was talking to their secondary coach (Rick Smith) and he was just showing me numbers on how he rated me and stuff."
Will the Bulls proximity to Plant City play into his decision?
"Yeah, that is kind of big," Green said. "My family wants me kind of close so that is a big deal. There is a pretty good chance I may be going there. USF is my leader."
Green says he is also receiving interest from Texas Tech.
