Green eyes visits

D'Iberville (Miss.) Rivals250 safety Jaquelle Green took his first unofficial visit of the 2014 football season last weekend to watch LSU host Mississippi State. The game may not have gone the way the Tigers wanted it to go, but Green enjoyed the experience in Baton Rouge.
"I liked it," Green said. "When we first got there the crowd was in it from the beginning. I was enjoying myself already before kickoff started. At first we were down on the field. When it was time for LSU and Mississippi State they came on the sidelines so we went to our seats. The whole stadium was just shaking. I promise I've never seen anything like it. Your whole body is just shaking and you could feel the whole stands just shaking."

The atmosphere definitely set a high bar, and Green plans to compare the experience with those at other places. He wants to make it back to LSU for the Tigers games against Ole Miss and Alabama, but he also has a few other trips he wants to take.
"I am trying to make it to State, Ole Miss, and before the season is over Georgia," Green said.
He does not have any plans for the upcoming weekend at this point, but he has not shortage of options. Green currently holds offers from LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State with interest coming from Miami, Louisiana-Lafayette, Purdue, Cal, Nebraska, and Memphis. There are a few schools who have been showing more interest than others.
"State, State has talked to me the most," Green said. "They actually talk to me on social media and then they actually call me every once in awhile. State, they message me on Twitter and send me shout outs. Also I've been in touch with Miami. The coach from Miami DM'd me. Coach Freeze keeps sending me funny pictures. He'll crop me into graduation and put him beside me and say I can't wait to have you're here and stuff like that. He's like I can see you graduating from here. Coach Freeze is playing around with it. I'm just loving it all."
As for favorites on the recruiting front, Green is not ready to name a leader. The experience at LSU was a good one and put an image in his head, but he wants to take his time with the process.
"I liked it," Green said. "I could see myself there but then again I could see myself at another college. I'm not really leaning toward one college right now. I'm just trying to sit back and let all of them come in. I don't want to commit early."
While he is taking his time with the process, recruiting is often a topic of conversation.
"Me and my mom talk about it and she always says before you make it to college you have to graduate and I'm like yes ma'am," Green said. "Then she says don't just think about that now you still have to graduate and keep getting better and better on the field. I get better and better on the field each year and I'm not just trying to be like I've got it and I can commit any day and still go to college. My mom doesn't want me to look at it that way."
Green and D'Iberville are currently 3-2 on the 2014 season and face Biloxi on Friday night. Green has been slowed by a high ankle sprain, but he is ready to hit the field on Friday.
Green is currently ranked No. 174 in the 2016 Rivals250, No. 13 among the nation's 2016 safeties, and No. 4 in the Rivals.com Mississippi Initial Top 20 for 2016.
