Green enjoys Pitt Visit

San Antonio (Tex.) Madison all-purpose back / cornerback Gary Green II made his first official visit of the fall had a very good experience. He went to Pitt over the weekend and had nothing but good things to say about his trip.
“It was great,” he commented. “I really liked it. I don’t really know how to rate it, since I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it would have to be close to a ten.

“It was just fun. I really liked interacting with the recruits.” He was hosted by fellow Texan, freshman DE Azzie Beagnyam.
“I really liked Coach (Dino) Babers, the running back coach, and they did a lot of things that grabbed my attention. They have done a good job of recruiting.”
Green will visit Kansas on Dec. 5, Wisconsin on Dec. 12, then UCLA on Dec. 19. He is scheduled to trip to Oklahoma State on Jan. 16, but is waiting on an offer from the Cowboys before taking the trip.
“I wanted to know where I was going before Christmas, and I will take a hard look at it after all of these visits I am taking in a row,” Gary commented on his timeframe for making a decision. “I am highly interested in Oklahoma State, so if they decide to offer, I will wait until after my visit there before deciding.
“I can’t say I have a leader, because the leader (Oklahoma State) hasn’t offered. Pitt is up there, though. I won’t know until after I take my visits and until I see if Oklahoma State is going to offer.
“I am looking at the coaches, players, and football programs. All of them have good programs, so it's mainly just the people that will help me decide.”
Green stands 5-foot-9, weighs 170 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds. As a senior he rushed for more than 1,700 yards on 181 carries.
He will have no problems qualifying with a 940 on the SAT and a 93 GPA. He wants to go into coaching, but will probably major in communications / broadcasting.
