Green a hot SEC prospect

Recruiting is already off to a fast start for D'Iberville (Miss.) safety Jaquelle Green and the process started with a bang.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Green had an idea the recruiting process was going to be a good one for him, but he did not realize it would kick off the way it did.

"The first one was LSU. I don't know, they called and me and my mom were shocked. We didn't know it was coming," Green said. "My coaches were like be patient something big is coming your way. Just be patient and keep working hard. Then I walked in the front door and my mom was crying. I was like what's wrong. She said someone needs to talk to you. Then I answered the phone and they said this is coach and you have an offer from Louisiana State University.
"At first we thought it was unreal. Then they invited us to the junior day and all of that. It was just a blessing really."
Ole Miss and Mississippi State have joined Green's offer list with Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, and USC all dropping by the school to check out the standout defensive back.
His summer schedule is a busy one. He plans to kick off his summer slate with a stop at LSU and from there it just keeps on going.
"I have a busy summer this summer. I don't think I'm going to have a week off because I think every week I'm going to be going to a camp," Green said. "Because I'm going to LSU, (Mississippi) State, Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama…. I don't think I'm going to make it to the Southern Cal one but I do want to take a trip out there so I'll still get out there to visit. Then I'm still going to have 7-on-7 and travel basketball."
Green also plans to make a summer stop at Florida State.
While it is still early in the process, he admits he did grow up a fan of one school in particular.
"LSU, that's why it felt so unreal," Green said. "We didn't think it would be coming that soon."
At this time the Tigers do have his attention and are the leader in his recruitment.
"LSU is on the top but when it comes down to it I can only pick one," Green said. "The one I feel best and feel comfortable with is the school I'll be attending."
Green also likes what he has seen from Alabama, Ole Miss, and Florida State, but he is also plans to take his time with the recruiting process.
"My mom said we are not going to look at it too fast, but as the process keeps going we'll keep looking at it," Green said. "Because I still have two more years."
