Great Combine Brings Offers

What a difference a great combine can mean to a player. Lance Ball from Teaneck, N.J. is now the talk in recruiting circles after his great performance at the Nike combine on April 21 at Penn State.
Lance, a 5-foot-9, 220-pound running back, ran a blistering 4.4-second 40-yard dash and a 3.9-second 20-yard pro agility. His 40 time was the third best at the combine and the pro agility time was tops among more than 200 participants.

"I was looking to have great times," said Lance. “I knew it was important for me to run well in order to catch the eye of college recruiters."
Since going to the combine, Lance has received offers from Vanderbilt and Maryland with schools like Boston College, Syracuse and Rutgers also ready to offer soon. Lance is also interested in Michigan State, Notre Dame and Georgia.
"I hope this is just the start of things. I wanted to prove myself as far as speed goes and I think I've done that. My coach told me that schools have been calling and that many are coming to see me in May."
Last season Lance gained 1,591 yards on 170 carries with 22 touchdowns. He also has a maximum bench press of 315 pounds.
