Gravesande lands three new offers

Irvington, N.J. wide receiver Waynelle Gravesande attended the Elite College Combine on May 1st. The 5-foot-10, 155-pounder felt he had a terrific combine in Piscataway and picked up more offers afterwards.
"The whole combine was awesome, the environment and people made it great," he said. "To me I had the best performance out of everyone there. The coaches got to see my size and how I attacked the press. I went straight up on my opponents and it was fun, I had a hell of a time there. I felt I basically showed the coaches on hand that I couldn't be covered, I have extraordinary speed and strength for a guy my size is above average. In the drills there I felt like I did great in the 40-time. I ran it in 4.49-seconds."

Over the past couple weeks the Garden State prospect added three new offers to his list.
"I got offers from East Carolina, Michigan State and Hofstra," he said. "I like every offer I get. I appreciate it and it shows me there is an opportunity to play, but I have a big decision ahead of me."
Two schools are leading for Gravesande's services at this time.
"The two top schools for me are Penn State and Connecticut," he said. "As a kid I've always liked watching Penn State football. I also was amazed by there facilities when I went there for junior day.
"I like everything about Connecticut as well. I know the team is developing into a great program. The coaches are very hands-on with their players and the facilities are great. I particularly like coach Lakatos, he's a great guy. He is not one of those coaches that doesn't put on a front around you and then act another way once you really get to know him. He is a special person that gives you a lot of tips to get better and is awesome to be around. At the moment, I'd say I'm leaning a little more towards Connecticut then Penn State, but it is close."
This summer Gravesande plans to head to camp at Temple.
Last season Gravesande earned first team all-juniors, all-conference, all-county, all-area and all-group after hauling in 61 receptions for 819 yards and 10 touchdowns.
