Grant thinking visits to top four

After a 6-4 season, Killeen, Texas offensive tackle David Grant is focused on the weight room and recruiting. The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder has scheduled his first official visit with more to come and has focused in on four schools in particular.
"I'm visiting SFA on January 18th," Grant said. "It's a good coaching staff. I like the city. I like the school and the environment around the school."

The atmosphere around the school will be one of the main factors in Grant's college decision down the line.
"When I can start playing and the campus environment are big factors," he said. "Where the school is situated at and basically how the town is and when I can play."
Grant hopes to set up at least three more visits along with his trip to SFA to his top four schools.
"I'm going to visit Kansas," he said. "Iowa, I'm goint to try to get a visit to Iowa and I'm gonna see if I can get a visit to Nebraska before the Spring."
Beyond his recruiting visits, Grant will be working in the weight room to get in shape for track and field in the spring, when he plans on throwing the shotput. He also has some very specific weight room goals.
"Right now I'm just lifting weights and running, trying to keep in shape until track starts," he said. "I'm gonna try to get my squat better, that's about it. Right now it's at 515. I want to be at at least 550 by new years."
