Grant has another star rising

Sacramento (Calif.) Grant year in and year out has D-I prospects. This season the marquee name is Syd’Quan Thompson, but before too long recruitneks will hear about Grant linebacker Reggie Walker (6-2 ½, 220, 4.55)
“Reggie has great leadership qualities and could be one of our defensive team captains this season,” Grant coach Mike Alberghini said. “He is definitely one of our defensive leaders.”

“Reggie put on quite a showing at the USC camp in June,” Alberghini said. “Everybody who has seen him likes him.”
Walker has great instincts as a linebacker and racked up over 140 tackles as a junior.
Walker has good strength with his 280-pound bench.
“Reggie is very physical, he runs very well in pursuit and is a big hitter,” Alberghini said. “He has all the ingredients to be a successful middle linebacker on the next level.”
“Reggie is coming into his own,” Alberghini said. “He is still growing and just beginning to fill out.”
“USC, UCLA, Cal, - the whole Pac-10 came by this spring,” Alberghini said. “ Most of the schools west of the Mississippi came by this spring.”
“I don’t believe Reggie has any offers,” Alberghini said. “It is only a matter of time.”
“We are expecting a big year out of Reggie and if he continues to grow as a football player, he will have his share of offers,” Alberghini said. “He’s a very good football player.”
