Gorman picks up another offer

South Florida is always loaded with defensive back prospects and this season is no different. One of the very best from Miami is cornerback Jabari Gorman. Gorman, 5-11 and 170 pounds, is from Monsignor Pace High School. Last season as a junior he recorded 80 tackles and four interceptions. He returned two of those for touchdowns.
"I have ball awareness," Gorman said. "Out there I am a ball hawk. I have good tackling skills. Sometimes I am a little too aggressive."

Gorman attended the Nike Training Camp at the University of Miami on Sunday. He was one of the camp standouts in the secondary.
"You know, I have been working on my strength and speed. I am in the weight room every day. I am starting to see the results. I saw it at the Nike Camp because I thought I did real well. I wish I made some more interceptions and breakups. But overall I thought I did pretty well."
According to Gorman he is sitting on 23 scholarship offers. He landed another big one earlier today.
"Stanford offered today. I have some good grades and that's what comes first. Stanford is the best of both worlds with football and academics. They have everything. Academics is important to me because it opens up doors for me."
Being from south Florida Gorman grew up a big fan of the Hurricanes. Like a bunch of other programs they have already offered him a scholarship.
"I did grow up a Miami fan. They will be in my top five. That's a young team that is building up and I would love to be a part of that. I would love to help out that program.
"I spoke with, Randy Shannon on Friday. We talked about some good things. The spring game was exciting. After watching practice and seeing how they play I expect big things out of them this season. They are getting after it and they will be successful. Miami will be real good."
Did Gorman just tip his hat as to who the team to beat is for his signature come National Signing Day?
"Nah, I am open with everybody. I also like Ohio State, LSU, Alabama, and schools like that right now. Honestly, I want to see everyone I can."
Gorman has now seen Miami and Florida. What other trips does he have planned in the near future?
"I am going to UCF this weekend. In late April I will go to the Ohio State spring game."
