Gore heads to the ACC

Defensive end Joe Gore made a decision earlier today. The Lake Waccamaw (N.C.) East Columbus end decided to commit to the ACC over a number of other colleges.
"He just committed to Clemson," East Columbus head coach Travis Conner said. "He told Coach Swinney he was all in. He just said that they seemed like the fit for him.

"He just had a great visit there on Sunday. He had a great meeting with Coach Swinney. Coach Brooks has done a great job with him and he had a real good time with Coach Steele and Pearman. It just seemed like the right fit."
What did Gore like about the Tigers?
"He just said that they seemed like the fit for him," he said. "I think he liked the academic support and facilities up there, that was a huge plus for him. It was kind of the atmosphere of being in a college town and that's the only thing there. I think being out in the country, he's a country boy was very appealing to him as well."
Gore committed as a defensive end.
Conner went further about his star commitment.
"They are getting a great player that has great speed and length. He's able to come off the edge and really cause some people some problems," he said. "He can go up there and will be a hard worker. He'll get his degree and is going to work his tail off to help them win a championship."
