Gopher pledge uncertain

Fort Pierce (Fla.) John Carroll linebacker Lester Graham gave a verbal commitment to Minnesota last week, but he had some of his plans change.
“Lester did visit Kansas State this weekend,” Graham’s mother Essie Armstrong said. “He just called me and told me he was going to have to stay another night due to the weather. The airport was iced over and he couldn’t fly out.

“He said things were going good and he was enjoying his time there. He said he felt very happy with what was going on.”
The 6-foot, 215-pound Graham’s verbal commitment could be in jeopardy according to Armstrong.
“That was only a verbal thing,” she said when asked if Lester had committed to Minnesota. “He had verbally committed to Minnesota. He wasn’t certain about Kansas State at that time. They hadn’t even been in the picture with an offer. He was excited about them as soon as they called with that.”
Graham’s decision will be entirely up to him.
“The decision is up to him. He’s the one that will go to school there. I don’t want to make the pick for him. That wouldn’t be fair for me. I haven’t been to those schools like he has.”
