Goodson, Allen suffer opening loss

Klein (Texas) Collins had high expectations entering the 2005 season with the likes of Oklahoma State commit Michael Goodson and LSU commit Matt Allen leading the offense. The Class 5A squad, however, was surprised, 20-19, by Class 4A Klein Oak last weekend.
Goodson injured his ankle and sat out the second half, while Allen's line was disrupted by the pesky speed of Klein Oak.

"It was disappointing but we are getting ready for Aldine McArthur," Allen said.
While Allen is moving on to the next game, he remains steady in his commitment to LSU. He is fielding calls from Tennessee, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State on a regular basis, but his intentions are to be a Tiger.
"I really want to go to LSU," he said. "My visits are over, but some schools just call to check up on me to see is I have changed my mind."
Allen has also witnessed the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina and witnessed several new students on the Klein Collins campus.
"There are a lot of new kids here," he said. "I know there are some sophomores and juniors coming out for football, mostly from Louisiana."
