Gooding talks first offer

Offer No. 1 came in for Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith wide receiver Sequan Gooding last week. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder landed the offer from the MAC.
"Western Michigan offered on Wednesday," he said. "It's shocking and surprising. I'm very excited.

"I know they pass the ball a lot and use a lot of receivers. Greg Jennings came from there.
"Josh Gattis is recruiting me and he came down to the school a couple weeks ago and then said he liked my highlight tape a lot."
So, is Gooding planning a visit to Western Michigan?
"Yes, I plan on getting down there sometime this summer."
A variety of other colleges including Ohio, Temple, Delaware, Massachusetts, JMU, Virginia Tech and Maryland are showing interest.
"Most of them want me to camp," he said. "I'm gong to Virginia Tech's camp on June 4th and Virginia's one day camp, that's it I know about, I've got more coming."
Gooding confirmed one school is high on his list.
"I'm a Nebraska fan, I like Nebraska a lot," he said. "I've been told they were really interested.
"I just like them cause of the way they run their offense, it's balanced, and they run and pass when they need to."
Gooding had a big junior season last year posting 32 receptions for 704-yards while earning all-district honors.
