Good news coming for Georgia DE

A late-rising prospect from the Peach State may be on the verge of some very good news from one of his favorite schools.
“I’m still waiting on that offer from Auburn, but I think it’s getting close,” said Buford (Ga.) defensive end Shun Williams. “They’re coming to the school tomorrow, coach Nall and coach Dunn. They called and said they have some really good news for me, so I’m anxious to see what that means.”

Williams (6-2, 225, 4.6) currently has offers from Kentucky, UAB, Central Michigan and Georgia Southern. He’s already visited the Wildcats and Blazers, and plans to be with the Tigers on Jan. 30. But if a scholarship offer comes between now and then, it could be a foregone conclusion.
“If they offer me, it’s definitely a done deal,” he said. “I’ve always liked them. They’re a school I grew up liking and wanting to play for when I was little… Yeah, I’d be all over that.”
Williams said if something should happen and he doesn’t get the offer from Auburn, he still likes his other options.
“I just got back from UAB,” he said. “It was a good visit. I liked it there. The people were real nice, and I think they have a good opportunity for me to go in and play a lot early in my career.
“Kentucky has a great campus. It really blew me away how good their facilities are. I liked the people there, too. It was a good group of guys. Coach Gray and coach Brown talked to me today and gave me a breakdown of how everything looks now. They said my scholarship offer is still there if I’m interested.”
Williams is coming off a senior season which saw him record 80 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, eight sacks and one interception.
