Goldi picks up first offer

Canton (Ga.) Cherokee strongside defensive end Brenan Goldi has flown somewhat under the radar so far during the recruiting process. However, he has picked up his first scholarship offer and more could be on the way.
“I have an offer from Louisville,” Goldi said. “Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern are also recruiting me really hard, but have not offered yet. They have all invited me for an official visit and will take one to all of them after the season.”

The 6-foot-4, 228-pound Goldi had an impressive showing at the NIKE camp in Atlanta in May where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds and had a 27-inch vertical jump.
“I would say my top schools are Louisville, Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern and Cincinnati,” Goldi said. “Cincinnati and Georgia Southern are recruiting a couple of my teammates so that would be cool if I got to go play with a couple of those guys. I’m the only one Louisville is recruiting so I would be there by myself.”
So far this season Goldi has 96 tackles and 12 sacks and has led his team to the third round of the playoffs. This week they face a tough battle as they travel nearly six hours to take on top-ranked Camden County.
