Golden set for visit No. 1

We just talked to Fresno (Calif.) Edison defensive back Robert Golden a few weeks ago about some of the upcoming visits he plans to take. At the time, the corner had trips set with Georgia Tech, Michigan and Ole Miss but all three schools are no longer in the picture and Golden will be checking out the biggest game out West this weekend instead.
Golden, 5-11, 170 pounds is one of the elite corners in the region and his recruitment has already been well documented. The athlete committed last summer to Arizona but has always maintained his desire to take his visits.

"Like I said before, if Coach Stoops is at Arizona, I'm going to Arizona," Golden said. "I just want to these visits as a backup plan. It's insurance in case something does happen but I've very happy with Arizona.
"I was going to visit Michigan but I decided I want to stay closer to home so I'm not considering Michigan, Georgia Tech or Ole Miss any more. I want to play in the Pac 10 and stay out West so the only schools I'm now looking at are all Pac 10 schools.
"We have a bye this weekend so I'm going to take an official visit to Oregon. Oregon is kind of a new school for me but they have been there from the beginning. They were one of my first offers and I like the way they play so I'm excited to get out there. They're playing Cal and both teams have been playing some real good football so it should be a great game. Since Oregon is at home, I give them a small edge but it really could go either way.
"I'm also close to setting trips with Oregon State and Arizona State but neither are set in stone yet. The only concrete visits are with Oregon and Arizona. I'm going to Arizona (Nov. 2). In addition to those schools, I'm also looking at UCLA. I was at the Rose Bowl last weekend for their game with Washington and had a good time. They have given me a verbal offer and said the written offer could come in the mail any time now."
