Golden enjoys time in Eugene

Fresno (Calif.) Edison defensive back Robert Golden took an official visit to Oregon this past weekend and came home raving about his time in Eugene.
Golden, 5-11, 170 pounds is one of the elite cover corners in the West this year. He committed early in the process to Arizona but decided to take a few visits starting with Oregon this past weekend.

"I had a great time, it was really a great trip for me," Golden said. "There were a lot of highlights for me but the biggest had to be the game itself. Oregon and Cal with ESPN Gameday there, it was a pretty crazy atmosphere.
"I really liked watching how Oregon plays their defense and how they use their corners. They're very aggressive and fly around to the football. Even though Cal won, I was still really impressed with Oregon and like their football team a lot.
"Marvin Johnson was my host and I had a good time with him. I saw the campus, the facilities and the city itself. Everything was great. I know everyone talks a lot about the facilities and they were nice but I'm not the kind of guy that gets too caught up in things like that.
"I was actually more impressed with the city of Eugene and just what a cool college town it is. It's real mellow there and I felt very comfortable. Overall, I can't find anything but pluses about the visit."
Did the trip do anything to change his pecking order of schools?
"Arizona is still my No. 1 but Oregon is No. 2 right now," Golden said. "I'm going to keep some things to myself right now and just go through the process and see how it plays out. That's really all I want to say about that right now but Arizona is still my top choice and I'm still definitely committed there."
