Golden backs off commitment

When Fresno (Calif.) Edison defensive back Robert Golden committed to Arizona back in the summer, he always said he wanted to take his visits but was solid with the Cats. The talented corner now says he's no longer committed to Arizona and is re-opening his recruitment.
Golden, 5-10, 185 pounds is among the elite corner prospects in the nation. It was a huge coup for the Cats when Golden gave them his commitment but he has now decided to start from ground zero.

"I'm no longer committed to Arizona right now," Golden said. "I'm still looking at them but I just had some concerns with how the season was going. I want to go in to a situation with a stable coaching staff and I just wasn't 100% sure that would be the case at Arizona.
"I was supposed to visit there the first weekend of November but that's kind of up in the air now. Right now, I just want to start from scratch and everyone is on the same level right now. I have no leader and I'm basically looking at every school that is looking at me.
"I want to take all my trips and once I'm done with that, I'll figure out where the best place for me is. Who knows, that could still be Arizona but right now, I just want to keep things wide open.
"Some of the schools I'm very interested in are Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA and Washington. I'm also open to schools outside of the Pac 10. Before I was only looking at schools in the West but now, I'm open to the ACC, SEC, basically everyone.
"I already visited Oregon but I don't have any other visits set right now. I was going to visit Arizona State this coming weekend but I'm not looking at them any more either. The next visit I set will probably be with Oregon State. I want to take all five trips so I have four more left. Once I take those, I'll sit down with my family and coaches and figure out where the best place for me is."
