Goins is focused on two

Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School linebacker Kenneth Goins continues to focus on two schools. What's the latest for the 5-foot-9, 210-pounder?
"He's got a couple visits coming up," Gilman assistant Henry Russell said. "He's going to Syracuse and Tulane in December. I know he has dates, but I can't remember. He's going to both of those schools."
Is he down to those?
"I think so," he stated. "He just felt comfortable with both of their coaches and the academics programs they have. They are both good fits for him."
Goins is doing well this season for Gilman.
"He's led our team in sacks the last two years with nine or ten," he said. "He's incredibly physical and he can run. He knows how to get to the quarterback in pass rush situations and cause fumbles. He's just fun to watch on defense."
According to Russell, a couple prospects are emerging late this year in the 2012 class.
"We've got a 5-foot-11, 185-pound cornerback Malcolm Powers," he said. "He's starting to get a lot of I-AA interest. He's starting to hear from I-A schools, Maryland is interested and Navy. Nobody has offered yet.
"Malcolm is a tall, rangy corner that can really run. He has five interceptions this year and returned one for a touchdown.
"Also, we have a 5-foot-11, 205-pound running back in T.J. Trusty. He's getting a little interest more from I-AA schools. T.J. is a powerful back that loves to come down hill. He has a couple moves and is a physical player."
