Goethel enjoys first official visit

One of the top linebackers in the West region, Vista's (Calif.) Travis Goethel, took his first official visit this past weekend to Utah. The talented athlete gave his thoughts on the trip and also commented on where his next few visits might be.
Goethel, 6-3, 220 pounds is a talented player with nice size and range. He projects as an outside linebacker and showed off very good cover skills at the SoCal Nike camp.
"I had a good time, Utah is definitely a school I'm considering," Goethel said. "I've been to Utah before on a skiing trip with my family a few years back but this was my first time visiting the campus and taking in a game. They played Air Force and it was a pretty incredible game, Air Force scored a couple of late touchdowns but Utah looked good.
"I liked the city and the campus and I got along well with the coaches and players. Utah is building something right now and they're pretty high on my list, for sure in my top five."
The nation's No. 38 ranked linebacker and the No. 81 rated prospect in California hasn't set any other trips but said he's hoping to set a visit to Nebraska in the next week or so.
"Nebraska was one of my first offers so I'm looking to trip there for sure," Goethel said. "I would also like to visit Notre Dame but they haven't offered me yet. UCLA, Oregon State and Colorado are all schools that have offered and I'm high on each of those, those are the main ones I'm looking at."
