Goens lands two important offers

Trent Goens has had some impressive camp performances recently but it was film that landed him his latest offers.
The Chino Hills, Calif., defensive end who looked good at the recent RCS Southern California has landed new offers from Cal and Miami and Goens said he's highly interested in both programs.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound standout is taking a cruise this summer with his family that leaves from the Miami area so he'll be able to check out the campus during that trip. It's a short jaunt to Northern California so Goens said he'll see both places soon.
"Both of them were just film," Goens said. "My coach just sent some stuff out to a couple colleges and they messaged me that they liked me and then they offered.
"Cal is definitely a school I was looking at prior to any communication with them. It's a great school in California. I know a few guys that are up there so that's definitely a school I looked at before and liked a lot."
Goens admitted he didn't put too much thought into the Miami program since the Hurricanes had not been showing much interest but now that the offer came he's going to take a really close look.
Getting to campus this summer could be a big help to determine where Miami stands among his favorites moving forward.
"Miami was a school I hadn't really thought about much," Goens said. "I know it's a great football school and I'll definitely do my research on them to see what it's all about.
"I'll be able to visit Miami this summer. My family and I are taking a vacation and I'll be down in Florida so we'll get to see the campus. Cal is an easy drive so I'll be able to see both of those schools."
So far, Goens has been offered by Boise State, Cal, Colorado, Miami, Northwestern, Washington, Washington State and Yale. He said Arizona State and Iowa State are showing a lot of new interest.
