Godley talks NC State trip

North Carolina State was host to plenty of recruits over the weekend. Greensboro (N.C.) Northwest Guilford defensive end Baird Godley was one of those players that made the trip to Raleigh.
"It was a really good visit," he said. "I got to see all the facilities, tour the campus and talk individually with Keith Willis. He's a really cool guy that knows what he's talking about. I got to sit down with him and watch some of my film. He seemed to really like it and wants me to come to a one day camp. If I show up good there, an offer should be on the table. Overall it was a really good trip and State is definitely one of my favorites now.

"I'd say they are a favorite because of my conversation with coach Willis. He knows his stuff, played in the NFL and has a tenacious style and likes to bring it."
In the next month, Godley plans to visit a handful of other schools.
"On April 7th I'm going to Wake Forest, April 14th to South Carolina and sometime in April I'm going to Middle Tennessee State's spring game," he said. "I'm also planning to visit Athens on April 21st for the Nike Camp and do the Shrine Bowl combine later this month."
Along with NC State, Wake Forest and North Carolina are Godley's leaders.
"I was invited to UNC over the weekend, but I wanted to concentrate on just one junior day," he stated. "I like that North Carolina is really close to home and coach Davis and Blake seem like really good guys. Their facilities are top notch.
"Wake Forest is really close to home too. They've been recruiting me for a while now and had a magical season and are a good school academically."
