Godchaux Wide Open

Plaquemine (La.) Rivals250 defensive end Davon Godchaux has continued to gain momentum over the past month with new offers and new interest coming in from across the country.
Godchaux, who was named the defensive line MVP at the Rivals Camp Series in Houston, Texas, has added offers from USC and Florida. He has also decided to keep his options open and no longer claims any favorites.

As Godchaux put it recruiting is going well, and Sunday he received another scholarship. This one came from the ACC and Florida State.
"Coach Sanders, the quarterback coach, wanted a copy of my transcript, and I sent it and he said he wanted me to become a Nole because they're looking for more defensive ends like me and he wanted to come see me in the spring," Godchaux said.
The standout defender has also hit the road recently. Sunday, he was in Memphis for the Nike Football Training Camp. He also recently visited Ole Miss.
"It went well," Godchaux said of the visit to Ole Miss. "Me and coach, Kiffin the d-line coach, and coach Heard, we have built strong relationships. Ole Miss is a good college. They're on the rise and a great team."
The visit was cut short because Godchaux had to return home for prom, but he was quick to point out he would have liked to stay longer.
This weekend he is faced with a decision in regards to his travel plans.
"I'm thinking about going to Alabama this week," Godchaux said. "I don't know if I'm going to go because LSU's spring game is this week. I might go down to Tiger Stadium this week and see how it is. I know I'm visiting Alabama for a camp June 15. I'm going down there for the o-line/d-line camp so I might just go ahead and go to LSU."
At this point he has not made any plans after this weekend but there are a few trips on his mind.
"I want to take a trip to Florida for a Florida camp and may try to take a trip down to Florida State too," Godchaux said. "I'll probably check out Mississippi State. Just stop by and talk to them and things like that. I definitely want to take a trip to the West coast to USC."
Godchaux is also looking forward to participating in the Rivals Five-Star Challenge later this summer. He is currently ranked No. 208 in the Rivals250 and the No. 9 strongside defensive end.
