Godby star updates favorites

In case you haven't noticed, Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby is absolutely loaded. One of the top prospects on the Godby team is offensive guard/defensive tackle Kareem Cromwell, who has picked up over a dozen offers and had many visitors come through last month to check him out.
"Nebraska, North Carolina, Marshall and Indiana are my most recent offers," Cromwell said. "I am going to camp at Georgia on July 8 and 9 and I am hoping they will offer. I am also going to camp at Florida and I am going to talk to the coaches and I think they will offer too."

It's not too often that Pete Carroll, coach of the defending national champion USC Trojans, makes his way to Tallahassee, Florida, but this spring he did just that to check out Cromwell and his teammates.
"Pete Carroll came out to practice one day to check out all of our guys," Cromwell said. "He called me in May and we talked a while and I also talked to the recruiting coordinator. They have been sending me handwritten letters and stuff so I know they must be pretty interested in me."
Cromwell attended the NIKE camp at Tallahassee where he measured in at 6-foot-4.5, 290 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in 5.21 seconds, had a 5.09 shuttle, a 21-inch vertical jump and did 16 reps on the bench press.
"Right now my favorites are Louisville, Georgia, Auburn, Florida, USC and NC State," Cromwell said. "I am planning on waiting to take all of my official visits and making a decision sometime after the season is over."
