Goble hoping interest turns into offers

Canton (Mich.) Plymouth's Ronnie Goble has ideal size and speed for the outside linebacker position in college and on a weekly basis he talks with several programs in the MAC, Big Ten and SEC. Now the 6-3, 220-pound Goble is looking to turn that attention into actual offers.
"I'd like to have more offers," Goble said. "I have a Bowling Green offer, but a lot of the schools haven't seen my senior film yet. I sent out my first five games last week, but I talked to Purdue, Vanderbilt and some of the other schools and they haven't seen it yet because they are so busy with their season. Hopefully after they watch it they'll be able to evaluate me and go from there."

Goble has attended games at Michigan, Central Michigan and Purdue this fall and has been in contact with Michigan State, Northern Illinois and Vanderbilt as well throughout the last few months. Purdue, Vanderbilt and Central Michigan are three schools that have shown the most significant interest in Goble.
"I just talked to Vanderbilt an hour ago and they said they are just focused on getting another corner and another o-lineman, but if they 25 scholarships they would have offered by now," Goble said. "They really like me as a linebacker, but I'm not sure how that's going to work because they already have one or two linebackers committed.
"Purdue is really interested. My recruiting coach is Coach (Brock) Spack and he's the linebacker coach. I went to their game a couple weeks ago against Central Michigan. I called them the other day and he said he's really been wanting to watch my film, but he hasn't had time. He's going to get back to me after he does, but he said he's got to find somewhere for me, so I guess that is positive.
"Central Michigan has been to my school four times and I've been up there three times. I feel they're about to (offer), but you never know. They came to my practice last week and I did pretty good at their camp they said. They said they've seen everything they need to see by senior tape and once they get that they'll probably get an offer out."
Goble is listed as an athlete because his 4.61 speed combined with his size could help him project to several positions at the college level, but most teams see him as an outside linebacker. This fall he has recorded 43 tackles and four sacks from the linebacker position and also has 12 catches on offense for over 200 yards as a tight end.
"We need one more win to guarantee the playoffs," Goble said. "I think I am doing pretty good, especially at linebacker. Last year I played d-end and a lot of schools weren't sure how I'd play if my hand wasn't in the ground and how I'd be in space."
