Glennon picks NC State

Earlier this afternoon, Rivals250 quarterback Mike Glennon made his pick. The 6-foot-6, 194-pounder out of Centreville (Va.) Westfield selected North Carolina State over offers from Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Rutgers and numerous others.
"I committed today around 1:30," he said. "I talked to coach O'Brien first and then my recruiting coach, Keith Willis.

"I think coach O'Brien had an idea I was going to commit yesterday when they offered. I told him there was a good chance I would and he's not real talkative guy, but showed some emotion. I think he was excited on the inside because afterwards he told me I was their top quarterback. He then just said he was glad to have me on board and is really excited about the future up there."
Glennon attributes a visit to campus last week as being decisive in his choice.
"After visiting there, I told myself if they offer I'll go. I just thought it was the school for me," he said. "The whole time, I compared all other schools to NC State and when it came down to it, I liked NC State the most and decided that I mine as well get it over with so I won't lead other schools on.
"I think on that visit I found a comfort level I was looking for in a school. That was the main thing. I also really liked the coaches. They are all very honest guys and coach Bible has done a great job producing quarterbacks."
The four-star prospect will be given a chance to earn playing time as soon as he arrives in Raleigh.
"They're not saying specifically when I'll play, but the coaches did say I'm what they do best," he said. "They told me if I prove I'm better than the others I'll play as a true freshman. Otherwise if not, I'll redshirt and go from there and every year the best player will play."
