Glasper doing double duty

Concord (Calif.) De La Salle four star cornerback Willie Glasper, Jr., is pulling double duty for the Spartans in the early going. Glasper’s two-way standout performance helped De La Salle win its, ho-hum, 139th straight game when they shellacked San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty 47-0 last Friday.
Glasper, considered one of the state’s best cornerback prospects, is also playing running back starting because three-star running back prospect Jackie Bates tweaked his ankle.

Glasper rushed for 83 yards on seven carries and scored two touchdowns playing for the injured Bates.
On defense Glasper collected four tackles and he broke up the only pass that came his way.
When rivals asked if Glasper was getting the Damon Jenkins treatment (Damon Jenkins was Glasper’s teammate a year ago and the opposition never threw to Jenkins' man because of his lockdown coverage) Glasper said, “I hope not then I would never get another interception.”
Glasper has received calls since September 1st from USC, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, FSU, Nebraska, Utah, and Colorado State.
Glasper top five schools at this time are Florida State, Oregon, USC, Cal and Washington.
Glasper was selected all-state, all-metro and all-league for his junior season performance after accounting for 65 tackles and eight interceptions.
