Givers adds another offer

Hampton (Va.) Phoebus linebacker Landon Givers picked up his latest offer from the MAC. The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder is now up to three scholarships to go along with his ones from Akron and Kent.

"He picked up a new offer from Miami (Ohio)," Phoebus head coach William Dee said. "I think right now a lot of schools like him because he did very well at recent combines weighing in at 210-pounds and running a 4.5-second 40. I expect the recruiting to pick up soon. In particular I know Virginia Tech and Virginia are very interested."

Last season the linebacker prospect registered an impressive 100 tackles and 15 sacks.

"He has a motor that doesn't stop and Landon also loves to play the game," he said. "He is a very athletic player that used to play basketball and that athleticism has stayed particularly now that he focuses in on football. I project him to probably be an outside linebacker in college. He's very talented and quick."

Givers earned all-district and region honors as a junior.
