Givens gets good vibe from SMU
Killeen, Texas, athlete Columbus Givens took his first official visit this weekend to SMU and the 6-foot-1, 185-pound two-star selection came away very impressed with what he saw in Dallas.
“I really liked coach Bennett,” Givens said.

“I knew he was a good coach when I went into the visit, but getting to talk to him got me really excited. I also like coach Gush. I think they’re going to get that thing turned around. They just need a few more good players.”
Players like Givens?
“Well, I’ve not committed or anything yet,” he said. “I would put them right up there with UTEP. I’m going out there next weekend. I’ll probably have a decision some time after that. I used to like UTEP the best, but you can put SMU up there now, too.”
