Gimm holds offer, taking weekend trip

Spring (Texas) Westfield tight end Jonathan Gimm received his first scholarship offer quite some time ago and now is taking in junior days to see which others may be around the corner.
The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder didn't have a lot of catches as a junior, but says that he prides himself on his physical nature and blocking ability. That earned him his first Big 12 offer this last December and now he's heading to another school in the conference for a second junior day.

"I've got Kansas, they've offered me," Gimm said. "I got that right around Christmas, so that was nice. I was excited. I'm also getting stuff from Oklahoma State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M."
The Aggies will host Gimm this weekend for a second unofficial visit this weekend.
"I've been to a Texas A&M junior day," Gimm said. "A&M is one of the schools I'd like to go to and I've been talking to them quite a bit. This Saturday, I'm going up there again. It's a nice campus and it was great the first time. It'd be a blast to go there."
Though the Aggies sit high on Gimm's list, he says an out-of-state school currently holds an edge.
"Iowa is up there because my family lives up there and it would be great to go to college where they could see me play," Gimm said. "It's my mom's side of the family."
So will Gimm be adding another offer this weekend from Texas A&M?
"They haven't really talked about an offer yet," he said. "They're kind of hinting at it and stuff like that."
Gimm was an all-district selection as a junior.
"I'm mainly a blocking tight end," he said. "But, whenever I get the ball in my hands, I'm pretty good with it."
