Gillum still juiced about the Cuse

Youngstown (Ohio) Liberty hard-hitting safety Ryan Gillum committed to Syracuse early in the recruiting process, and the pledge has been listed a soft commitment in the Rivals.com database for quite some time. But is pledge really that soft afterall?
"Yeah, I'm still committed to Syracuse," Gillum said.

So are you still looking around?
"No, not too much," the 5-foot-11, 200-pound two-star prospect said. "I consider myself more of a solid commitment now more than ever. I've been getting a lot of letters from West Virginia and Michigan, but I'm about 85 percent sure that I'm going to Syracuse.
"I'd say I'm pretty sold on Syracuse. But if there was other schools it would be West Virginia or Michigan."
At this point, he says the Orangemen are the only ones to have stepped up with an offer, but he thinks that's mainly because he committed early in the process.
And he's probably right.
On film, he's a hard hitting player that can lay the wood, but is also good enough in coverage. While he might not be an upper level Big 10 type, he definitely has the goods to be a solid college football player.
"The way I hit people is what makes me stand out above the rest," he said. "I really like to hit."
Gillum said he's impressed with the way Syracuse has continued to recruit him.
"I like the campus," he said. "I like the players there, and the coaching staff. They graduate a lot of their football players and they're in the process of turning that program around. I'm excited about it."
