Virginia Beach (Va.) Landstown wide receiver Jeremy Gilchrist was rumored to be committed to Virginia Tech on Tuesday, but his coach denied such a decision had been reached. Has it now?
"Yes, he's committed to Tech," said Landstown head coach Chris Beatty. "We talked things over last night and he called Virginia Tech and committed. He wanted to talk to Kent State and UConn and some others before making an announcement and a decision."
Gilchrist, a three-star wideout, chose the Hokies over offers from Colorado, Kent State, UConn and others.

"He just felt Tech was the best fit overall and a big-time program," said Beatty of his 5-foot-9, 185-pounder. "He always wanted interest from the Hokies and when the offer came on Friday, I think he pretty much knew he would pick them."
