Gilbert swings by Arizona

Bryce Gilbert has popped onto the radar of college coaches with a strong start to his junior season and the big wide receiver made a local recruiting stop last weekend.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound wideout from Gilbert (Ariz.) Higley visited Arizona for the UCLA game and, though the Wildcats stumbled on the big stage, Gilbert said he had a great time at the stadium and getting a feel for the program.

Gilbert is still waiting for his first scholarship offer but with so much recruiting attention early this season, he remains optimistic that it's only a matter of time.
Arizona State, Boise State, Boston College, Oregon State and Washington are just a few of the programs that have identified Gilbert as a potential target in the 2017 class. He is being looked at as both an edge receiver and tight end.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Gilbert intends to stop by Arizona State in the coming weeks to see the Sun Devils in person as he continues to build relationships with the staffs at both in-state schools. Through five games this year, he has 26 receptions for 553 yards and seven touchdowns.
IN HIS WORDS: "That Arizona visit was incredible -- nothing like it," Gilbert told Rivals.com. "I'm being recruited by most of the Pac-12, and also Boston College, Boise State and some others. I'm not sure yet who exactly could be close to offering since it's just start of the process. But with Arizona, I got a chance to speak with coach (Charlie) Ragle and they are searching for a tight end."
