Gibbs setting up officials

Vicksburg Miss., tight end/defensive end Sean Gibbs has quietly been watching the recruiting process play out and now that signing day is rapidly approaching that is where most of his attention is going to be over the next month or so.
"I have official visits set to Memphis, Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Mississippi State," Gibbs said. "I am not 100 percent sure on the dates but I think my visit to Memphis is on January 21, the one to Ole Miss is on January 28 and the one to Mississippi State is on January 14 I think. I will probably end up taking mid week visits to Southern Miss and possibly West Virginia."

At the NIKE camp Gibbs measured in a 6-foot-1.5 and 233 pounds He did 12 reps on the bench press, had a 29-inch vertical jump and ran the shuttle in 4.43 seconds.
"I haven't had any in-home visits yet, but a bunch of coaches have been coming by the school to see me," Gibbs said. "Coach Champ from Ole Miss called me the other day and asked me about Ole Miss. I told him that I had been leaning elsewhere because Ole Miss had not been recruiting me all that hard. He came by my school the other day and made me the first recruit he visited so I'm liking them more now."
A starter since the tenth grade, Gibbs recorded 15 catches for 385 yards as a junior, and was named to the all-county and honorable mention all-district teams as a tight end. Also a star on the baseball team, the right hander boasts a fastball in the upper eighties, along with a good curve and changeup, and batted .300 with two homeruns and 28 RBI as a sophomore.
"I don't really have a leader, but I do like Memphis a lot," Gibbs said. "They have been recruiting me really hard the whole time. A lot of other schools have come and gone and some schools haven't been involved that long or they stopped recruiting me for a while or whatever, but Memphis has been there the whole time."
