Giacone speaks highly of Heels

Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep has been receiving a lot of attention from the North Carolina coaching staff in this recruiting cycle.
The school is home to Brandon Napoleon, D.J. Singleton and Michael Giacone, each of whom has received an offer from North Carolina.

Giacone, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound tight end visited North Carolina earlier this week.
"I just got back (Wednesday) night," Giacone reported. "I liked it a lot. The campus was beautiful and the coaches were great. The facilities were good. I thought the stadium is really nice. Overall it was just a great trip."
Giacone left Chapel Hill without an offer but that doesn't have him down. He already has offers from UConn and UCF, and he was encouraged by what the UNC coaches told him.
"I spent most of the day with coach Mo (Allen Mogridge), the tight ends coach and my recruiter, and I got a chance to talk to coach (Butch) Davis.
"They just talked about how I would fit into the system. They explained their program and showed me everything. They told me I'm their type of tight end.
"I definitely have a lot of interest in them. They'd definitely be near the top of my list."
Giacone recently took a trip to Central Florida as well. That was in late March and it seemed to help their chances as well.
"That was really good, too," he recalled. "The campus was great. There are palm trees on campus and the facilities are brand new and just top notch. I thought the coaches were great."
