Giachinta has a favorite

With his senior season now complete, athlete Matt Giachinta of Paramus (N.J.) Catholic has turned his full attention to recruiting. This included an unofficial visit this past weekend, trying to put his official visit schedule together and discussing his current favorite.
"Recruiting is pretty good," said Giachinta, who is 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds. "I sent out my highlight tape last week, so I'm waiting to hear back from some schools now. I was at UMass this past weekend."

Giachinta currently holds offers from Army, Towson, Maine and UPenn, and is also receiving interest from several other schools.
"I've been talking to Delaware, James Madison, UMass and Richmond," said Giachinta. "And I went to a few Rutgers games and I'm going to the Army/Navy game in December as well as the Army/Notre Dame game this weekend."
While he holds four offers and is receiving interest from several other programs, one school is currently standing out.
"Out of my four offers, I like Army right now," said Giachinta. "I really like the coaches there, the tradition and the academics. It's about more than just football to me and going there would give me a good future."
During his senior season this fall, which came to an end this past weekend with a loss to nationally ranked Don Bosco Prep, Giachinta was impressive on both sides of the ball.
"I ended up with 115 rushes for 700 yards and 10 touchdowns and six sacks on defense," said Giachinta.
