Gettis off the market

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Los Angeles (Ca.) Dorsey wide receiver/safety David Gettis pulled somewhat of a shocker to some football fans as he turned down offers from many Pac-10 schools and chose a Big 12 school only moments ago at the U.S. Army All-American game.
"I have decided to play for Baylor," Gettis said. "I chose Baylor because it gives me a chance to run track and play football for a great school. They have a great tradition in the 400 meter and that is my event. When you think of the 400 meter you think of Baylor."

The 6-foot-4, 198-pound Gettis runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds and is ranked as the No. 43 wide receiver and the No. 50 player in California.
He was selected second-team all-league as a junior and won the state in the 400-meter as a sophomore with a 47.1 and repeated as champ as a junior with a 46.3.
As a junior he caught 23 passes for 496 yards for seven touchdowns, averaging 20.7 yards per carry.
