maintains he's not ready to pull the trigger.
"I'm close to committing, but I don't know who yet," he said. "It's looking
like Georgia or Auburn... and maybe Florida. The 'big three,' as I call them.
They're making it hard to decide."
Verdun (6-2, 230, 4.6) is one of the nation's
top-rated
inside linebackers and a member of the
Rivals.com Georgia Top 50
team. Through two games this season for Thomson, the Peach State's No. 1 ranked
team in Class 4A, he's recorded 21 tackles, two sacks and one interception.
He's received calls from Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, Florida, Colorado and
Middle Tennessee during the last two weeks. "Georgia and Auburn are (calling)
the most," he said. "They're staying on me hard."
Verdun attended the Georgia-Clemson and Georgia-South Carolina games earlier
this year. He had planned to take in the Florida-Tennessee game in Knoxville
this weekend, but has changed his schedule due to some other personal
commitments. He said the next trip he plans to make is for Auburn's home game on
Sept. 28 against Syracuse.
