Armand Cauthen figures to have
plenty of D-I opportunities if he receives good news about his SAT score prior
to signing day.
"He's had a dozen or so offers," said Douglas County
coach Phil Williams. "We've had a lot of people express interest and like what
they've seen of him in person and on film, but they're all kind of waiting to
confirm the offers based on his test score. The picture could change pretty
dramatically if that happens, but he's running out of time, and a lot of people
are moving on to some other players they had further down on their board below
Armand.
Cauthen has had outright or conditional offers from
Louisville, Vanderbilt, Duke, Wake Forest, UAB, Ohio, East Carolina, South
Florida, Kansas and Middle Tennessee. He has made one official visit (Ohio) and
has a second slated for Jan. 31 at East Carolina.
"I'm not aware of any others at this point," Williams
said.
Cauthen (6-1, 195, 4.6) caught 40 passes for 641 yards
and nine touchdowns as a senior at Douglas County. He also averaged 28 yards per
kickoff return, 42 yards as a punter, and intercepted one pass on defense.
