Georgia WR on verge of first offer

Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek wide receiver/defensive back Will Judson readily acknowledges this assist his high-profile teammate and fellow wideout Calvin Johnson has given him in the recruiting game.
“I had a lot of calls the last month,” he said. “Georgia has come on late. I think at first they starting coming to school to see Calvin, but now they seem a lot more interested in me, too. I think a lot of schools did the same thing.”

The speedy Judson (5-9, 165, 4.4) has been receiving heavy interest from Wake Forest, North Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville and Auburn. He may be on the verge of his first scholarship offer after attending Wake Forest’s one-day camp this past weekend.
“I ran a 4.35 for them there. I was real happy about that,” Judson said. “Their recruiting coach, Brad Lambert, told me they’d be offering me a scholarship sometime soon, but he had to sit down with the other coaches first and make sure he could do it.
“They’re my definite favorite right now. I loved the campus. From what I saw, it was really beautiful. I like the academics, too. That’s a good fit for me.”
Judson carries a 3.0 GPA and took his SAT for the first time last week. On the field, he recorded 367 yards and three touchdowns receiving and almost 1,000 yards and two scores on kickoff/punt returns.
Wake Forest is recruiting him both as a wideout and defensive back. The other schools on his list are talking strictly receiver at this point.
He plans to camp at Louisville this weekend. Georgia, Kentucky and South Carolina are also possible destinations for him this summer.
