Georgia TE has offers, interest

Buford (Ga.) tight end Thor Merrow has picked up a couple of scholarship offers, and is in close contact with other schools that may give him more options soon.
“I have scholarship offers from Ball State and Kent State, and I’ve been talking to South Carolina, Memphis and Georgia Southern,” Merrow said. “I don’t really know much about any of them, though, and it’ll be a little while before I have a clue about that that stuff. I’ll have to wait until after my official visits.”

While those visits will come, they may not be any time soon, as Merrow has yet to set a schedule for his trips.
“I’m going to wait until after the season, probably a couple of weeks into the playoffs, before deciding where to go,” he said. “I want to see how the playoffs turn out.”
While he’s focusing on the schools to which he has offers and significant contact, Merrow said he isn’t ruling out any other programs that are in contact with him.
“I know some people that have gone to some schools that have sent me letters,” Merrow said. “I’m hoping that they come through.”
The son of a nine-year NFL starter (defensive end Jeff Merrow of the Atlanta Falcons), Merrow said his father is one of the influences on his style of play.
“I play with intensity and heart, and I’m hard to block,” he said. “I give 100 percent, I love the game, and I’ll do whatever it takes to get it done on the field. I think it’s shown up on the field this year. We’re 8-1, everyone’s coming together, and we’re playing pretty good out there.”
