Georgia star still firm with Terps

Garden City (Ga.) Groves star defensive end Barrod Heggs extended his commitment to the Maryland Terrapins early in the summer and not much has been heard from him since. So is he still firm with his commitment?
“Yes sir I am still a firm commitment to Maryland right now,” Heggs said. “I am still getting recruited by schools like Georgia Tech, Louisville and Middle Tennessee State, but I am happy with Maryland.”

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Heggs ran the 40-yard dash in 4.97 seconds at the NIKE camp in Atlanta in May. He also posted a 24-inch vertical jump and did 15 reps on bench press.
“I have an official visit scheduled with Maryland for December 3,” Heggs said. “I think I am going to try to take two other official visits just as a back-up plan in case something happens with Maryland. I am going to talk to the coaches at Maryland about it first though.”
Through seven games this season Heggs has 50 tackles and seven sacks.
“I have had some coaches come and watch me play,” Heggs said. “In fact, Maryland was here to watch me play on Friday night. I am not sure where I will take those other official visits, but it will be somewhere pretty close to home.”
