Georgia star makes surprise pledge

In what was expected to be a difficult recruiting battle for the signature of Atlanta Westlake four-star offensive guard Michael Brown, it’s turned out to be a quicker than expected commitment for the 6-foot-5, 270-pound guard.

That’s because Brown, ranked as the nation’s No. 10 offensive tackle, has committed to Georgia.
“Yes, it true,” said Westlake coach Dallas Allen.
“I guess news traveled fast because he only committed about 30 minutes ago. This weekend, he and his mom sat down and talked about it. He was supposed to go visit Virginia, but he didn’t go because his mind was pretty set on Georgia. I think it has been for a long time.”
The Dawgs landed the commitment earlier this morning over LSU, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan and Virginia. All of the teams offered Brown a scholarship.
“I think it’ll great match,” Allen said. “He’s a very good player going to a great program.”
Brown took just one official visit during the recruiting process – a visit back on September 27 to Kentucky.
