One of the program’s top players is strong safety/outside linebacker Joseph Thomas, who is coming off a junior season which saw him record 119 tackles, 13 sacks and three forced fumbles.
“I’m getting a lot of stuff from North Carolina, Wake Forest, Kentucky and Western Carolina,” he said. “Those are the main ones right now.”
Thomas said he’s hoping to eventually draw the attention of his favorite school growing up, the Georgia Bulldogs.
“They’ve always been my favorite team. I’m a big fan. We’ve always gone to their games,” he said. “My dad and brother both went there, so it would be real nice to follow them. I’m probably going to go to one of their camps this summer. Hopefully I can make a good showing.”
Thomas said Ole Miss ranks No. 2 on his current list. “I like their program, the school and campus,” he said. “It seems like a nice place to go to school.”
He plans to camp this summer at Georgia and North Carolina.
