Deonte Burnam appears to be closing in on a college decision.
"I took an official visit to Central Michigan this
weekend and really liked it," said the Dooly County standout.
"I liked the football and academic programs they have there, and I really
like the way they're talking about me coming in and playing early. They tell me
I could get on the field as a freshman and really help them, so that's real
attractive to me."
Burnam (6-0, 230, 4.7) is also considering an official
visit to UT-Chattanooga on Jan. 24 or Jan. 31 "if I don't commit to Central
Michigan before then."
As a senior, Burnam continued to rack up huge numbers
from his inside linebacker position. He recorded more than 200 tackles in
leading Dooly County to the state championship game and earning the Class A
player of the year award. For his career, he tallied more than 600 tackles.
