Georgia safety sets three visits

Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson defensive back
Roderick Rogers has set his first three official visits and
has a handful of other teams under consideration for the final two spots.
"I'm going to Wisconsin this weekend," said Rogers, a member of the
Top 50 team and the No. 36 safety in the nation. "I'm excited
to be going up there. Coach (Ron) Cooper came by to see me on Monday and
talk about some stuff I'll be doing while I'm up there. I've never been up
in that part of the country, so I'm looking forward to seeing what it's
"I'll be wanting to check out the social
surroundings, the sports medicine program and just the people in general. I
want to watch how the players practice (in preparation for the Alamo Bowl)
and relate to the coaches."
Rogers (6-2, 182, 4.5) will also be visiting Georgia
Tech (1/10) and West Virginia (1/17). The Mountaineers are supposed to visit his home next week. He said Maryland, Georgia and LSU are
under consideration for the final two spots.
"I'm really wide-open right now," he said. "I'm
letting my visits decide everything from here on out."
He has helped lead Stephenson to a 12-0 record this
season by recording 70 tackles, five interceptions and three touchdowns. Two
came on blocked punts and the other on an interception return.
