Georgia safety likes Tech, Wake

Dunwoody (Ga.) safety Deron Jasper has seemingly come out of nowhere to receive multiple SEC and ACC scholarship offers this recruiting season. Now, the 6-foot-3, 190-pounder has it down to two finalists.
"Recruiting was a little hectic at first, but when I got it going it was fun to visit all of the schools," Jasper said. "Georgia Tech and Wake Forest are the top two candidates."

Jasper took an official visit to Tech the weekend of Dec. 9 and will go to Winston Salem the weekend of Jan. 6.
So what does he like about his top two choices?
"Georgia Tech because it has that homey feel," Jasper said. "It would be really nice to play there. I like Wake Forest because my high school coaches have talked it up."
Kentucky, which was Jasper's first official visit on the weekend of Dec. 2, is a distant third.
During the contact period, Jasper played host to head coach Chan Gailey and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Patrick Nix from Georgia Tech, defensive coordinator Dean Hood from Wake Forest and head coach Rich Brooks and offensive coordinator Joker Phillips from Kentucky.
"The Georgia Tech coaches talked about what the school can do for me as a person and a player," Jasper said. "Wake just introduced me to the school."
Jasper will make a decision following his visit to Wake Forest in January.
