Georgia safety has four offers

Just when you think that the list of recruits from Decatur (Ga.) Southwest Dekalb couldn’t get any longer, along comes two-star safety/outside linebacker Shawon Golightly to extend the list. The 5-foot-10, 200-pound Golightly has four scholarship offers and some ideas on his favorite schools.
“I get regular calls from Duke, East Carolina, Marshall, Wake Forest, Middle Tennessee, Tulane and South Carolina,” Golightly said. “I have offers from Duke, East Carolina, Wake Forest and Middle Tennessee State.”

That’s an impressive list for a fast-rising prospect.
“I’ve worked really hard in the off-season to get to where I’m at now,” Golightly said. “I had to move to middle linebacker this past week because our starter got hurt. I ended up making 15 tackles. I just considered it to be a play-making safety position. I just kept doing what I usually do.”
And that has those college coaches flocking like crazy.
“I really like East Carolina, Middle Tennessee and Wake the best,” he said. “They’re all schools that will let me come in and play pretty quickly, and that’s something that really excites me. I also like South Carolina, even though they haven’t offered. I really like the way they play defense.”
