Georgia RB lines up No. 1

Sylvania (Ga.) Screven County running back Michael Cooper has lined up his first official visit.
Cooper, who is 6-foot and 210 pounds, is set to visit Maryland on Dec. 7. He's also thinking about trips with Georgia Tech, Clemson, Florida and Georgia.

All but the Gators have offered scholarships.
"Maryland has opened my eyes up quite a bit," Cooper said. "I know they have a good running back system, and the coaches there are great because I know a lot of them from when they were at Georgia Tech."
Cooper, who has rushed for 1,022 yards and 15 touchdowns, said he's planning on visiting Clemson unofficially for the Florida State game.
Florida State and LSU were teams that Cooper had listed previously. But it looks like both teams have slipped off of his list.
"Florida State wants me to play another position, and LSU hasn't been sending me the hand-written letters," Cooper said. "They're just sending the basic stuff now."
Cooper said he's not ready to claim a leader at this point, and he plans on taking all five visits before he does anything.
"I don't have a top team," he said. "I've got it down to a manageable number. I'm going to look at the rosters and see how I can contribute at those schools."
