Georgia QB lands with Troy State

The winding road that was the recruitment of Tucker (Ga.) quarterback D.T. McDowell has come to an end.
The three-star quarterback, once committed to Nebraska prior to the Cornhuskers’ high-profile coaching change, landed with a new school on signing day.

“I signed with Troy State today,” he said. “I thought they gave me the best opportunity to play both football and baseball, and I had a great relationship with their head coach and the quarterbacks coach. It was almost a father-son relationship with both of them. I feel like I’m going to fit in real well there.”
He picked the Trojans over Mississippi State.
McDowell (6-1, 190, 4.57) is rated the No. 12 dual-threat quarterback in the nation by Rivals.com. He’s also a top baseball prospect who would like to pursue both sports at the college level.
